Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using Yo.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Yo Events platform ("Service"), operated by Yours & Ours LLC, a company based in Roanoke, Virginia, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Yours & Ours LLC. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not access or use the Service. Your continued use of the Service signifies your acceptance of these Terms and any updates thereto.

2. Description of Service

Yo Events is a community platform designed to foster connections through local events, groups, and initiatives. The Service enables users to discover, create, and manage events, join community groups, participate in discussions, and engage with their local community in Roanoke, Virginia, and other regions. Features include event listings, group management tools, messaging, and content sharing, all provided subject to these Terms.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features of the Service, such as creating events or joining groups, you must register for an account with accurate, complete, and current information. Failure to maintain accurate account information constitutes a breach of these Terms and may result in suspension or termination of your account. You are responsible for safeguarding your account password and for all activities or actions performed under your account, whether with Yo Events or integrated third-party services. You agree to notify Yours & Ours LLC immediately at support@yoroanoke.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account or any security breach. Yours & Ours LLC is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to secure your account.

4. Content

You may post, link, store, share, or otherwise make available information, text, graphics, photos, videos, or other materials ("Content") through the Service, such as event descriptions, group posts, or discussion comments. You are solely responsible for the Content you post, including its legality, accuracy, reliability, and appropriateness. By posting Content, you grant Yours & Ours LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, modify, adapt, publicly display, and perform the Content in connection with operating and promoting the Service, including for marketing purposes. You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to post the Content and grant this license. Yours & Ours LLC does not claim ownership of your Content, but you agree we may use it as described above. You agree not to post Content that:

  • Is illegal, defamatory, obscene, offensive, or invasive of another’s privacy.
  • Violates the intellectual property rights of any party.
  • Contains viruses, malware, or other harmful components.
  • Promotes hate speech, discrimination, or violence based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
  • Misleads others, such as through false event information or deceptive group descriptions.

Yours & Ours LLC reserves the right to monitor, review, and remove any Content at our sole discretion, without prior notice, if it violates these Terms or is deemed inappropriate. We may also report illegal Content to the appropriate authorities.

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with these Terms. You are prohibited from using the Service in any manner that:

  • Violates any applicable local, state, federal, or international laws or regulations, including those of the Commonwealth of Virginia or the United States, such as laws related to fraud, defamation, or distribution of illegal materials.
  • Harasses, intimidates, threatens, or causes harm to others, including posting or transmitting Content that is abusive, defamatory, obscene, or offensive.
  • Attempts to gain unauthorized access to, interfere with, or disrupt the Service, its servers, networks, or related systems, including through hacking, phishing, or denial-of-service attacks.
  • Uploads, transmits, or distributes viruses, malware, ransomware, or other harmful code that may damage or impair the Service or users’ devices.
  • Infringes on the copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, or other intellectual property rights of Yours & Ours LLC or any third party.
  • Sends unsolicited emails, advertisements, or engages in phishing or other deceptive practices to collect personal or sensitive information.
  • Misrepresents your identity, affiliation, or authority, including impersonating any individual, entity, or Yours & Ours LLC staff.
  • Overloads, floods, or otherwise disrupts the functionality of the Service or interferes with other users’ ability to access it, such as through excessive automated requests or spamming.
  • Posts or shares Content that promotes violence, hate speech, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
  • Uses the Service for commercial purposes not expressly permitted by Yours & Ours LLC, such as reselling access to the Service, operating a competing platform, or soliciting users for unauthorized commercial activities.
  • Collects or harvests personal information from other users without their consent or in violation of applicable data protection laws.
  • Creates or promotes events or groups that are fraudulent, misleading, or intended to deceive users, such as fake events or scams.
  • Engages in any activity that undermines the purpose, integrity, or community standards of the Service, as determined by Yours & Ours LLC.

Any violation of these prohibited uses may result in immediate suspension or termination of your access to the Service, without prior notice, and may be reported to the appropriate authorities. Yours & Ours LLC reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate legal action against anyone who violates these provisions.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its original content (excluding user-provided Content), features, functionality, design, logos, and trademarks, is the exclusive property of Yours & Ours LLC and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws of the United States and foreign countries. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or otherwise use any portion of the Service, including its code, design, or branding, without prior written permission from Yours & Ours LLC. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved by Yours & Ours LLC. If you believe any Content on the Service infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact us at support@yoroanoke.com with details of your claim.

7. Termination

Yours & Ours LLC may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to a breach of these Terms, violation of applicable laws, or conduct that harms the Service or other users. Upon termination, your right to access and use the Service will cease immediately. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support@yoroanoke.com or using the account deletion feature, if available. Upon termination, any Content you have posted may remain on the Service, subject to our license rights, unless you request its removal in accordance with applicable laws. Yours & Ours LLC is not liable for any loss of Content or access following termination.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Yours & Ours LLC disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or availability. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components. You use the Service at your own risk. In no event shall Yours & Ours LLC, its affiliates, directors, employees, or suppliers be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. If applicable law does not allow the limitation of liability, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or related to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Roanoke, Virginia. You agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of these courts for such purposes.

10. Changes to Terms

Yours & Ours LLC reserves the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. If a change is material, we will provide at least 30 days’ notice prior to the new Terms taking effect, via email to the address associated with your account or through a prominent notice on the Service. What constitutes a material change will be determined by us. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service.
